GNMGeneral Nursing & Midwifery

Attainment of optimum health is the desire of every individual. Health of the people is an index of the level of development of a country. The achievement of a country in preventing diseases and promoting health depends upon the contribution of all members of the health team particularly that of nurses, who form a major group. Education is the key of all the progress and achievement. We educate student to become registered nurse, who contribute primarily towards the health of the community. Needs constant attention keeping in mind the changing health needs of the society? In the light of the changing educational system of the country, the course in General Nursing & Midwifery has been re-organized into a three years program. The purpose of the General Nursing Program is to prepare general nurse who will function as member of the health team beginning with competencies for first level position in both hospital and community. The program is geared to the health needs of the country, the community and the individual; and it will serve as a basis for advanced study and specialization in nursing. It will assist nurses in their personal and professional development so that they may make their maximum contribution to the society as individual citizens and nurses. The purpose of GNM (Diploma in General Nursing of Midwifery) Course is to prepare the growing demands of qualified, trained and dynamic General Nurses in the hospitals and nursing homes. We offer a specialized nursing diploma course which is aimed to produce trained professional who will function as Members of a health team beginning with consultancies for first level position in both hospital and community health services especially in rural areas. The nursing institute prepares the students to develop an aptitude for nursing and to provide the required knowledge and skills in order to enable them in offering proper care to patients of all types of illness.


Eligibility Criteria:

Candidate who has qualified 10+2 intermediate in any stream with minimum 45% marks.

Duration:

Three academic years.

Total intake of GNM program is 40 students.
